A controversy a few years ago, it has made me think about how there is still a very strong fundamental confusion about the things that have to do with the music for the Christian rituals.
In Italy there was the funeral for a football player who died for a sudden illness on the field, and at the funeral was sung a song of what was probably his favorite singer, an Italian pop star.
A well-known professor had then stated that this music possessed also a value comparable to that of the ones of the highest standards of the so-called classical music and gave it a not nice judgment about Gregorian chant, comparing it to a bleating.
