Who knows how many times you will have argued with your parish priest because he defended the use of guitars, tambourines and various instruments for liturgical use while you tried to make people understand the importance of the pipe organ for the liturgy. You had to make the parish priest understand that, even if it is true that other musical instruments can be admitted into the liturgy, the organ has a very special importance and this for very specific reasons. Unfortunately, sometimes it is difficult to make the parish priest understand these things as it increasingly happens that priests are totally ignorant not only in matters of liturgical music, but also in matters relating to music in general. Yet if you don't do it, who will?
Surely the parish priest will tell you that the organ was a pagan instrument that had been Christianized and this can also happen, for example, for the guitar. This is only partially true, and like all half-truths it becomes a falsehood.
